Gor Mahia are fancying their chances of repeating their 2015 heroics by winning the league title unbeaten.
Gor Mahia captain Philemon Otieno has revealed the secret behind Gor Mahia’s unprecedented campaign to lift a record 21st title whilst not losing a single league game this season.
K’ogalo currently lead the race by 10 points, having gathered 43 points after 19 league games and are on course to repeat their 2015 heroics of winning the title without ever losing a single match.
Although he has played a peripheral role this season following the arrival of Rooney Onyango and the rise of Paul Ochuoga, Otieno’s presence in the dressing room has still played a massive part in rallying his team in the quest for their title.
The former Harambee Stars right back has now explained the reason behind their success.
“It has been all about proper coordination among all our stakeholders (who) have been supportive to the team and everyone is working hard to make sure they make them proud,” Otieno told Citizen TV.
“Our aim is to take one game at a time and hope that at the end of the season we shall be champions,” he reckoned.
Meanwhile, Otieno has now looked back on their win over competitive rivals Tusker last Saturday thanks to an Austin Odhiambo stunner in the 19th minute of the match.
“It was a big win considering they have been our many rivals in recent years and that victory against them shows we are heading in the right direction as a team but we are not trying to get carried away,” said Otieno

With ambitions of retaining the crown, the team is fully aware of the challenges that lie ahead.
The journey to their 21st league title is still fraught with obstacles, including 15 more matches before the season draws to a close.
The team's next encounter, set against Kenya Police FC on February 3rd at the Nyayo National Stadium, is anticipated to be a critical fixture in their campaign.
