Pizza company mock Chelsea with live counter before Blues end goal drought against Fulham

Chelsea woes in September became subject of mockery for all, even fast food chains.

Giant pizza chain Dominos has joined in the football banter against Chelsea, mocking the Blues’s barrenness in a unique way.

Chelsea’s struggles

Prior to their back-to-back victories this week, against Brighton in the EFL Cup and Fulham in the Premier League, Chelsea were in a rut, failing to win games and, even worse, struggling to find the back of the net.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side failed to score a single Premier League goal in the month of September, as, before beating Fulham on Monday, their last league win came in a 3-0 triumph over newly promoted Luton.

This difficult period made them the butt of many jokes, mockery, and banter, and the pizza company Dominos involved themselves in poking fun at the unlucky Blues.

Dominos troll Chelsea

Following the defeat at Stamford Bridge to Aston Villa, the third of their treble of winless games last month, the pizza company put out a tweet saying: We’ve delivered about 852,609 pizzas since Chelsea last scored a goal.

The post was met with a rapturous reception by rival fans, who enjoyed that Chelsea were being kicked as they were down.

The company then doubled down on the effort, and ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Fulham at Craven’s Cottage, Domino’s X account made a post showing a counter.

According to them, their initial estimate of the number of pizzas they delivered since Chelsea last scored was wrong. The initial value they claimed was much higher, as instead of the earlier claimed 852,609, they said the value was 9,892,022 pizzas delivered as of the morning of October 2nd.

The tweet showed a live tracker outside Fulham Stadium, counting pizza deliveries until Chelsea’s next goal. The counter has now been reset after Mhykhaylo Mudryk fired the two-time Champions League winner ahead against Marco Silva’s side.
