Chelsea's Marc Cucurella plays sporting director, as he attempts to convince high-flying winger to join the Blues.
Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has revealed that he has put in effort to convince Athletic Club's winger Nico Williams to join the West London side instead of Barcelona.
Williams has been one of the standout stars in the European Championships. He and Cucurella have formed a powerful team up on Spain's left flank, combining to terrify defences, and the Chelsea defender wants them to continue the partnership in the Premier League.

What Cucurella
Speaking to reporters ahead of their quarter-final clash against host national Germany at the Euros, Cucurella spoke glowingly of his compatriot.
He hailed him as a star for now and the future and believes he would be a great signing for any team that manages to snap him up this summer, specifically Barcelona who have been strongly linked to him.
However, the wiry-haired winger prefers the younger Williams brother to join him at Chelsea and he has attempted to convince him.
“He would be a great signing (for Barcelona), but it all depends on what he wants,” Cucurella said, per Football Espana. “I’ve been telling him to sign for Chelsea... In the end, everything depends on him. He is very young, with a lot of experience. I think he will be a great player.”
Meanwhile, Williams has repeatedly reiterated his desire to continue at Athletic Club, saying that he is happy there amid the wave of transfer speculation.
