The Nigeria Football Federation has been asked to keep Austin Eguavoen as the senior national team's coach by Super Eagles midfielder.
Eguavoen has led the Super Eagles against the Benin Republic and Rwanda, with the team impressing in both games.
The NFF named Eguavoen as the interim coach of the Super Eagles for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches after failing to recruit a head coach for the team.
Eguavoen managed to lead Nigeria to a draw against Rwanda and a convincing win against Benin, who had previously defeated them in June.

John Ogu begs NFF
John Ogu has pleaded with the NFF to maintain Eguavoen in his current role as he looks solid to lead the team.
The midfielder posted on his official account on X, saying, "Dear @thenff, Please keep coach @coacheguavoen. Give him time to keep building the team moving forward."
He has also asked the Federation to give the new interim coach enough time to build the team for a greater purpose.
There have been rumours that Eguavoen has stepped down from his position as the interim coach of the Super Eagles.
However, he has debunked the news, stating that there are “No negative stories” of him stepping down from his position.
Eguavoen has impressed Nigerians following the team's performance against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
The three-time African champions are now well-positioned to make it to the 2025 AFCON, as they lead Group D with four points, ahead of Benin, who secured a victory over Libya to take second place with three points.
The Super Eagles will play back-to-back matches with Libya in October as the qualifications progress.
