Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino expressed his disappointment following the defeat to Wolves.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his disappointment over Chelsea’s defeat to Wolves, highlighting aspects in which they failed.

The Blues suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Wolves at Molineux, continuing their run of poor results. Mario Lemina gave the hosts the lead in the 51st minute, and Matt Doherty doubled it in the 93rd minute.

Christopher Nkunku pulled one back for the Blues in the 95th minute, but it was not enough to start a comeback.

What Pochettino

The Blues boss flagged Chelsea’s poor finishing, defending, and handling of corners as some of the reasons for their defeat to Wolves.

"We feel very disappointed because I think we deserve much more,” Pochettino said, per the BBC.

“This competition wounds you when you are not clinical enough. We created chances. That is why it is so disappointing. We conceded after a few corners and it was really difficult.

"We were talking a lot at the beginning of the season. We are young in age. It is a young team. We have players playing for the first time in the league. They need to adapt. It is confidence and about quality.

"We need to score if we want to win the games. We are very disappointed. Sometimes we have to keep a clean sheet if we cannot score. We conceded too many corners. We need to keep going and pushing. Young teams learn from this sort of game."

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are reportedly considering a move to sign German international Timo Werner from RB Leipzig in the upcoming January transfer window
