Police poised for their best ever finish in the top flight division.

Silent performer Francis Baraza will occupy the command room Police fc battle prayer hardened Sofapaka in FKF Premier League midweek clash at their brand new stadium in Nairobi.

Police will be hoping that a win for them will leapfrog KCB into fourth position with 53 points, considering they have a superior goal difference to the Bankers. It will also put them just 10 points behind league leaders, Gor Mahia.

Elvis Ruipia is currently the league’s second most prolific goal scorer on 21 goals, four behind Benson Omala of K’ogalo.

Baraza was heavily critical of the former Ingwe forward during their last game against FC Talanta, slamming his inability to take advantage of the opportunities created for him alongside Francis Kahata and Clifton Miheso.

New signing, Derrick Otanga, who was brought into the team to give them a different option as well as to push Rupia, will be hoping to start after a good cameo appearance as a substitute, although it is expected that Rupia may keep his place in goal, with Baraza making it a personal objective to help Rupia chase his individual record.

David Ouma’s Sofapaka will be hoping to get a result against Police. If he gets his side to win by a two goal margin, they will finally eliminate their negative goal difference, which currently stands at negative two. They will also go on par with 11th place Kariobangi Sharks on 37 points.

At the same time, they will be carrying on from their newly fond momentum of winning two games on the bounce. They will be looking to the dynamic duo of Ben Stanley and Sebastian Sunday for inspiration, after both players have been integral to their last two results.

At the Mbaraki Stadium, Twahir Muhidin’s Bandari will be facing Chales Korea Omondi’s Mathare United.

Both managers have started their stints in charge in contrasting versions, having been appointed early last week.

Muhidin’s first game resulted in a 0-0 draw against KCB before a 7-2 smashing of a hapless Vihiga Bullets. Korea’s was not as positive. His side lost 2-1 to Gor Mahia before getting battered 3-0 by Bidco United.

The slum boys can however make amends with a win, as it will put them just two more points out of the relegation places. Bandari virtually have nothing to play for anymore except finishing as high as possible. They are 6th on 44 points, and could make it 47 with a win.
