According to reports, the police are close to catching an internet troll who racially abused Arsenal star Bukayo Saka online.

Arsenal star Saka has recently been the subject of racial abuse from fans in recent week on social media.

The England international performance this season has been impressive, with his team currently in the Premier League title race.

However, despite his efforts this season some set of fans have questioned the Arsenal star's performance in some games which has led to racial comments on social media.

The police are looking into a Photoshopped picture and statement about the England and Arsenal winger.

Saka was accused by some of trying to trick the referee after he requested a late penalty in Arsenal's Champions League loss to Bayern Munich.

For over a month, the troll persisted in spewing racist remarks about Saka and other black football players.

According to reports from the Sun, the Met police are "closing in" on the perpetrator after deploying specialised UK Football Policing Unit detectives to track him down.

The Police have also taken further steps to suspend the culprit’s account on X which took four weeks.

Following our first revelation on the statement last month, anti-racism activists chastised the social media behemoth for continuing to permit its display.

The head of equality think tank British Future, Sunder Katwala, stated, "It just goes to show how inconsistent the current systems are, that it took a month to remove such blatant racism, even after it was reported in The Sun on Sunday."
