Galatasaray's ace, Victor Osimhen, provided a crucial update on his injury.

Victor Osimhen has provided huge relief for Galatasaray fans as he revealed his return date in a recent video, placing him back on the pitch in a significantly shorter time than envisaged.

Osimhen's injury

The Super Eagles striker suffered an injury after scoring two goals in Galatasaray's 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa. He had to be substituted out at halftime for Dries Mertens, and following the game, the club released a statement to announce he had begun treatment.

“The treatment of our football player Victor Osimhen, who felt pain in his upper left posterior muscle during the Kasımpaşa match in the seventh week of the Trendyol Super League and who was diagnosed with strain (strain and bleeding) in his upper left posterior muscle group during his check-ups at our sponsor hospital Medicana today, has been started.”

The injury effectively ruled out Osimhen for the internationals; hence, he was omitted from coach Austin Eguavoen's squad for the AFCON qualifier clashes against Libya.

What Osimhen said

The initial expectation was that he would be sidelined for six weeks, which would see him miss action until at least November.

in a clip that is now making the rounds on social media, the 25-year-old was asked by Turkish journalist Caner Isbegendiren when he will return to action, and he said, “After the international break.”

This suggests that the former Lille striker expects to be available for Okan Buruk’s selection in Galatasaray's trip to Antalyaspor on October 16.

Osimhen has had a bright start to his career in Turkey, scoring two goals and providing two assists in three Super Lig matches. His return will be a huge boost to the Cim-Bom's chances of opening a bigger gap in the chasing pack in their bid to defend the title.
