The tactician has revealed why league leaders Posta Rangers have no reason to panic after drawing their last two games which has allowed Gor Mahia to close the gap to one point.

Posta Rangers head coach John Kamau has revealed why his side must not panic in the quest to maintain their lead at the top of the FKF Premier League table this season after delivering two consecutive draws.

Rangers sit top of the table on 21 points, just one above Gor Mahia who missed on a glorious chance to go top after they were helf to a 0-0 draw by Kenya Police last Sunday.

Speaking after their 0-0 draw against KCB last Sunday, Kamau, who has been dubbed ‘Pep Guardiola’ for implementing a swash-buckling style of play that has made Rangers take the league by storm so far this season,  insisted that he is relishing the fact that the league title race will be tight this season in order to keep it “entertaining”.

“We don’t have to panic because one, I think we still have a game to play against Gor Mahia, 6 points to fight for and I think it is a good race because if it opens up now, I think the league will not be very entertaining.”

“The most important thing is to keep our cool.”

Kamau believes that fatigue has taken a toll on his players because of the fact they played three games last week, but has identified a brilliant solution to try and help keep his players fresh.

“The most important thing is that we balance the load and rest ‘cause after the Kakamega game, I can see that the players are somehow struggling, so the most important thing is to create a simple situation.

“We will work on some underloads in order to see if there is something fresh.”

Posta Rangers sit top of the FKFPL on 21 points after 10 matches played. They lead Gor Mahia on just one point.

They will have their work cut out to maintain their lead with such a key player suspended for the next fixture against AFC Leopards this Friday, one game before the international break.

They have scored 14 goals and conceded another five, numbers that make them the most prolific side in the division, and one with the second-meanest defence.

Rangers will play AFC Leopards in their next league match, They sit first on 21 points.
