Amidst the glamour and fanfare of the football world former Ghana national team captain Asamoah Gyan has recently come into the spotlight for reasons other than his impressive career.
A legal dispute between Gyan and his ex-wife, Gifty, has culminated in a court order demanding the footballer to provide substantial monthly upkeep for their three children.

The 1966 World Cup winner, who has a statue of him erected outside Old Trafford for his incredible contributions to the club, had been confined to a care home since July.
Gyan, who has had an illustrious career in football, playing for clubs like Sunderland, Udinese, and Rennes, had initially denied being the biological father of the three children.
However, a court-ordered DNA test proved otherwise, leading to the final verdict.
The 37-year-old has now been instructed to pay 25,000 Ghanaian cedis (approximately Ksh 317,310) per month for the children's welfare.
The court did not stop at the monthly upkeep; it further ordered Gyan to provide his ex-wife with a house in the UK, another home in Accra, a petrol station, and two cars.
