Three Premier League giants go head-to-head in pursuit of Spanish superstar.

Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly set for an epic transfer race for the signature of highly-rated Spanish star Gabri Veiga.

Chelsea were the first club to be linked with Veiga, and now Arsenal and even Tottenham Hotspur have been rumoured to be interested in the player.

The three London clubs could end up signing Veiga, who scored 11 goals for Celta Vigo last season. He scored a brace in the final match of the season, and that ended up being a vital contribution that helped the club avoid relegation.

The La Liga club is understood to have resigned itself to the fact that Veiga is headed for the exit, although the destination is not known for now. There is a €40 million asking price for the player, but it remains a stumbling block, even for Premier League sides like Liverpool, who had reportedly made a lucrative contract offer.

He had also been linked with Manchester City as he was seen as a possible replacement for Ilkay Gundogan, who has already signed for Barcelona.

At Chelsea, he is considered a proper replacement for Mason Mount or even Kai Havertz, who made moves to Manchester United and Arsenal, respectively.

The Blues are understood to be keen to pursue Veiga after Moises Caicedo's chase, but that delay could hand Tottenhan and Arsenal an advantage in the race.

Arsenal are keen to sign attacking players, and the €40 million asking price may not bother Arsenal too much. Spurs recently completed the signing of James Maddison from Leicester City, but there is interest in signing more creative players. Veiga could join, but interest from clubs with European football tickets might convince him to overlook Spurs.

After Paris Saint-Germain pulled out of the race altogether, Veiga's destination could be the Premier League.
