The Head of State has urged Kenyans to fill up the Kasarani Stadium to push Harambee Stars to victory against South Sudan
President William Ruto has called on Kenyans to turn up in large numbers and cheer the Harambee Stars as they tackle South Sudan in a friendly match on Tuesday afternoon at Kasarani Stadium.
Engin Firat’s men will take on the South Sudanese brimming with confidence after downing Qatar 2-1 in Doha last week and there are hopes of another win given they will be playing at home.
It is on this backdrop that the President wants Kenyans to fill up the Kasarani Stadium as witnessed in Doha where Kenyans outnumbered locals when Stars won.

Harambee Stars face South Sudan on Tuesday, 4pm at Kasarani, focusing on adaptability ahead of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
“Congratulations Harambee Stars for winning against the Qatar national team last week. I am happy very many Kenyans showed up in Qatar to cheer our team,” the President said from State House, Nairobi on Tuesday.
“As you are all aware, today (Tuesday) at 4pm Harambee Stars will be playing against South Sudan. I want to ask all Kenyans to show up at 4pm to cheer our champions, the Harambee Stars.”
South Sudan suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Mali last Friday which added to their catalogue of losses this year, having also lost 3-0 to Egypt, 3-2 to the Gambia and 1-0 against Congo Brazzaville, since beating the Congolese 2-1 in January.
Kenya and South Sudan have faced each other three times with the former winning all of them. Harambee Stars won the first meeting between the two sides 3-1 in November 2013 during the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup that Kenya hosted.
