The move is aimed at helping the Jangwani club get maximum support from their fans.
Tanzania President Samia Suluhu has purchased a total of 5,000 tickets for Yanga fans ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup final against USM Alger.
Yanga will host the Algerian rivals on Sunday, May 28, in the first leg of the showdown for a shot at Africa's second-tier inter-club competition.
Timu ya Wananchi are now assured of massive home support as the head of state's purchase means more fans will attend the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium and cheer their club.
Yanga’s fans have always turned up in huge numbers whenever their team plays. The huge crowds have not only been witnessed within major cities, especially Dar es Salaam and during the Kariakoo derby, but also in country-side stadiums.
Apart from the stadium, fans are expected to be provided with live transmission at the club’s offices in Jangwani, Kariakoo.

This is not the first supportive gesture President Suluhu has shown towards the Tanzanian Mainland Premier League heavyweights. She has dangled financial incentives for the team as well as providing a special jet that will transport the club for the return leg in Algeria.
Yanga’s participation in the Confederation Cup final is historic, as they have never been here before. It is also a marketing milestone for the East African league.
