With two games behind table leaders SC Villa now, KCCA moved to 38 points, five behind the record champions.

KCCA FC fans are becoming increasingly impatient with head coach Morley Byekwaso, and the majority chose to wear black for Easter Sunday’s clash with UPDF FC to express their sadness.

The Lugogo outfit had lost four points since the return of the Startimes Uganda Premier League, with two draws with Maroons and Blacks Power denting the team’s title charge.

Unfortunately for the home fans, Sunday was no different from the last two matchdays as KCCA dropped more points to further lose ground in the title race.

Douglas Oyirwoth scored a late equalizer for UPDF to cancel out Tshisungu Kankonde’s headers and ensure spoils were shared on Easter Sunday.

Kankonde came off the bench to replace Julius Poloto and nodded in Muhammad Shaban’s cross to open the scoring in the 57th minute.

Goals have been hard to come by for KCCA, and holding onto the one goal for victory looked like the only realistic way to maximum points in a match played under floodlights.

But Brian Ssenyondo’s side had other ideas, and Oyirwoth volleyed home the leveller to send the home crowd into silence.

With two games behind table leaders SC Villa now, KCCA moved to 38 points, five behind the record champions.

Games in hand are never games won, as Byekwaso and his charges must have realized by now and leapfrogging Villa looks like a tough ask going by current form.

Since the 3-2 win over Arua Hill in February, KCCA has drawn three in a row.

Meanwhile, defending champions Vipers have also started closing in, now on 32 points and having played two games fewer than second-placed KCCA.
