The Italian top-flight season enters its 25th round of games with two big games headlining the weekend
The 2022/23 Serie A season continues with the 25th round of games offering premium entertainment spread across the weekend from Friday up until Monday.
Napoli v Lazio on Friday and Roma v Juventus are the picks of the bunch of the 10 games in this Serie A match week.
Napoli v Lazio opens the Serie A match week on Friday
The first game of match week 25 in Serie A is on Friday by 8:45 pm Nigerian time when table-topping Napoli welcome Lazio to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
The runaway league leaders are currently 20 points clear of their next opponents, Lazio who sit fourth on the Serie A log before kickoff.
Napoli have won eight consecutive league games, led by Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen who has scored in every single one of those matches.
The visitors have also won their last two league games but it does not compare to Napoli's form and they would need full concentration to stop Osimhen from adding to his 19 league goals.
It is also worth noting that Napoli have won the last four meetings between these two teams with their dominance over Lazio churning out eight wins in the last 10 games against them.
Saturday action in Serie A
Saturday in Serie A offers three games, the first of which is a mid-table clash between 11th-place Monza and Empoli in 13th in the 3 pm kickoff.
The evening game sees Atalanta welcome Udinese to Bergamo as Nigerian strikers Ademola Lookman and Isaac Success go head-to-head.
Sunday action in Serie A
The action on Sunday begins with relegation battles as Spezia and Hellas Verona do battle in the early kickoff followed by Sampdoria v Salernitana in the afternoon.
Inter Milan then host Lecce in the 6 pm kickoff after which a blockbuster game between Roma and Juventus will happen at the Stadio Olimpico in the late night kickoff.
Roma v Juventus headlines Sunday in Serie A
Despite being docked 15 points earlier in the season, Juventus now find themselves back in the top-four race along with their next opponents, Roma.
The Bianconneri are currently seventh, nine points behind Roma in fifth which will be a source of motivation to further slash the gap between themselves and other top-four hopefuls.
All is not well in the Roma camp right now as they became the first team to lose a Serie A game to Cremonese in the last match week.
To make matters worse, manager Jose Mourinho got sent off for an altercation with the fourth official which rules him out for this game and could be a huge advantage to Juventus.
Allegri's men have only lost two league games since September 2022 including six away wins in their last seven all without conceding a single goal.
The game can also be identified as the Paulo Dybala derby as the Argentine forward joined Roma as a free agent at the start of the season following his exit from Juventus.
Monday night football in Serie A
The match week will end on Monday with two games between Sassuolo and Cremonese and then Torino hosting Bologna in the last game.
