Chelsea slumped to another defeat in the English Premier League as Frank Lampard succumbed to his sixth loss since taking over.
Frank Lampard did not hide his frustration after his Chelsea side succumbed to a 3-1 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League on Tuesday night at the Emirates.
The Gunners were rampant on the night sealing their victory inside 34 minutes as skipper Martin Odegaard walked away with the man-of-the-match as he bossed the Blues who lacked motivation and cause.
Odegaard scored a brace with his strikes in the 18th and 31st minutes of Granit Xhaka’s pair of assists before Gabriel Jesus complemented in the 34th.
Striker Noni Madueke found one back for the visitors but that was all they could manage from the trip as they succumbed to their sixth defeat since their former captain took over temporarily.
“I want to be clear – I am not questioning the players as lads but from being good lads to transferring it on the pitch, you have to be aggressive and as a collective group we are not that,” Lampard said.
Underperforming
Lampard did not want to appear criticizing his underperforming stars but his tone was clear enough:
“But there are some things that are the basics, they have to be better.
“Some of it is the team being low in confidence but it is also under-performing in basics so now there are five games to compete with each other, to show that you deserve to be in the team, like Noni [Madueke] did tonight, with his performance after two weeks of good training,” the coach sent the message home.

The Blues continue their downward spiral and are now in the 12th position but could drop further if action is not taken.
