Kylian Mbappe's exit from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid appears to be getting messy

French champions Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set for a messy divorce from star player Kylian Mbappe, who is about to exit the French club for a move to Real Madrid this summer.

According to reports, the Ligue 1 giants have been served a formal warning by the French striker after failing to complete his wages.

Mbappe set for Real Madrid move

Earlier this month, Mbappe’s much-anticipated move to Real Madrid was made official as the 25-year-old superstar confirmed that he will head to the Spanish capital after completing his participation at Euro 2024.

While he remains contracted to PSG until the end of this month, his departure from the French champions appears to be far from amicable.

Despite his seven years of service, the relationship between Mbappe and PSG has broken down completely over the France captain’s decision to leave the club for greener pastures in Spain.

PSG reportedly owe Mbappe salary and bonuses

As reported by L’Equipe, Mbappe has not received his salary from PSG since April, which has amounted to €100 million, including contract bonuses. This significant sum translates to approximately ₦160 billion.

With just nine days remaining until his contract expires, Mbappe has formally notified PSG that they must settle the outstanding amount, otherwise, the situation is likely to escalate further, potentially involving legal action.

Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid is set in stone, and it is unclear what, if anything PSG will gain from strongarming the French striker into a courtroom battle over his unpaid wages.
