Maresca has been criticised for Chelsea’s dip in performances and results.
Enzo Maresca has been reprimanded for Chelsea’s underwhelming results, with Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace extending the Blues’ winless run to four.
Chelsea’s dip in results
The West London club could have gone top of the Premier League table temporarily before facing Everton on December 22, only to draw at Goodison Park.
Since that goalless encounter on Merseyside, Maresca's men have suffered consecutive losses to Fulham (2-1) and Ipswich (2-0) before following that up with a recent tie at Selhurst Park.
The slide in results now leaves them fourth in the standings, nine points adrift of Arne Slot's men, who have two games in hand.
They are also four points behind second-placed Arsenal and one shy of Nottingham Forest, who face Wolves on Monday.

Chelsea's recent results have sparked extensive debates, with ESPN pundit Alejandro Moreno blaming Maresca for the Blues' slump.
“Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but this lull and lack of results follows what had been a very good run for them so much so that got them in the conversation of being in the title race,” said the former striker.
“That’s for us to discuss. Maresca comes out to say ‘No we’re not in it’, but it’s not his place to say that. I always have an issue with managers who in their effort to manage expectations for the group, they limit their ceiling. They bring the ceiling down.”
What next for Chelsea?
Chelsea are back in action against Morecambe in the FA Cup on January 11 before returning to Premier League action three days later.
