The 38-year-old spent 12 years donning the Harambee Stars jersey prior to retirement in 2019.

Former footballer Allan Wanga has challenged the Football Kenya Federation to sack Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat after the 2-0 humiliating defeat to South Sudan on October 27.

The Elya Wako-coached South Sudan got the better of the Stars in the first leg of the Africa Nations Championships CHAN qualifier encounter at their backyard, with the reverse fixture set for Mandela National Stadium, Namboole in Uganda on November 3.

Wanga is among the legends who expected Harambee Stars to record a win against South Sudan owing to the gulf in class among the two teams and also considering their FIFA rankings. Although CHAN is a competition for players plying trade their home leagues, Harambee Stars who are captained by Michael Olunga are positioned 102 according to the September rankings, 70 places above their rivals.

"FKF should put the house in order as quickly as possible as we are not making any progress. We have to make changes in time if we are to do well in the CHAN tournament. Three wins in competitive matches is simply unacceptable," Wanga revealed to SportsBoom.

The latest defeat was Kenya's third in a row after the 4-1 and 1-0 loss against Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations double-header qualifier tie in Early October.

Wanga is synonymous with the Harambee Stars jersey after playing for the national team for 12 years before announcing retirement from international football in 2019. Wanga was a journeyman during his playing days having represented 11 clubs including AFC Leopards and Tusker. The 38-year-old boasts over 100 club goals.
