Qatae 2022: Japan vs Croatia Live

Joba Ogunwale 15:50 - 05.12.2022

Hello, good afternoon football fans. Welcome to our live coverage of the Round of 16 Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup clash between Japan and Croatia.

My name is Joba Ogunwale, and I will be captain for this flight.

However, Japan are still dangerous on the attack as they sent another ball into the Croatia box but Maeda could not connect.

After an early dominance from Japan, Croatia have now found their feet in the game as they go close through Ivan Perisic.

A friendly reminder that Japan deserve their place in the round of 16 and are no pushovers after they finished top of a group that had Spain and Germany.

Japan on the attack right from the start as they get the first corner.

Kickoff:  We are underway.

Meanwhile, Croatia made two changes to the team that played a 0-0 draw against Belgium.  Croatia XI: Livakovic, Juranovic, Lovren, Gvardiol, Barisic, Brozovic, Modric, Kovacic, Perisic, Petkovic, Kramaric.

Japan XI: Gonda, Ito, Tomiyasu, Yoshida, Taniguchi, Nagatomo, Endo, Morita, Doan, Kamada, Maeda. The Blue Samurai make three changes to the team that stunned Spain.

Japan are bidding to reach their first quarter-final in the World Cup while Croatia are hoping to replicate the success of 2018 in Russia, where they reached the final.
