Varane says goodbye to football at 31
The 31-year-old had joined Como this summer on a two-year deal, with an option for a third, following his departure from Manchester United as a free agent
His time at Old Trafford was largely riddled with injuries but he still managed 95 appearances across three seasons, including pivotal roles in their 2022-23 Carabao Cup and 2023 FA Cup triumphs.
Varane's most notable period, however, was at Real Madrid, where he amassed 360 appearances over 10 seasons.

In a social media statement, Varane said “all good things must come to an end” and insisted he had “no regrets” over his career.
The defender said that his achievements and memories gave him “immense pride and a feeling of fulfillment” and that he wanted “to go out strong”,
Varane is expected to remain with Como for the duration of his contract but strictly in a non-playing role.
