Tottenham Hotspur has joined other top European club for the pursuit of Rashford

Marcus Rashford is attracting loan interest from several major European clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, reportedly open to letting the forward leave in January, according to Daily Mail.

Tottenham, despite being the second-highest scoring team in the Premier League, are looking to strengthen their attack and revitalise their season.

However, they face stiff competition for Rashford's signature. Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan are also in the running, with Rashford's representatives reportedly holding talks with the Italian club.

Juventus and Galatasaray have also expressed interest. Rashford's future at Old Trafford became uncertain after a recent interview where he suggested he was ready for a "new challenge," implying a future departure from the club.

Any loan deal will depend on how much of Rashford's substantial £325,000 weekly wage United are willing to cover and whether they will include an obligation to buy. United have precedent for this, having subsidised the wages of Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood during their loan spells last season.

AC Milan appear to have made the most concrete move so far, hosting Rashford's brother and agent, Dwaine Maynard, for discussions on Tuesday.

The Serie A club, currently eighth in the table, have struggled for goals this season, leading to the departure of manager Paulo Fonseca and the subsequent appointment of Sergio Conceicao. Conceicao recently led AC Milan to a 3-2 victory over Inter Milan in the Italian Super Cup.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a former Manchester United teammate of Rashford and now a senior advisor at AC Milan, could also be a factor in any potential move.

United's preferred option is a permanent sale for around £40 million, given Rashford's contract runs until 2028 after an extension in 2023. However, a loan move seems more likely at this stage.

Manager Ruben Amorim has not played Rashford since a substitute appearance against Nottingham Forest on December 7th, although he was on the bench for the recent 2-0 defeat to Newcastle.
