Real Madrid have received a significant setback with the news that their marquee signing will be out for the next few weeks, keeping him out of the Madrid derby.
Kylian Mbappé suffered a hamstring injury during Los Blancos’ match on Tuesday, the club revealed via an official announcement on their website.
Mbappe out for three weeks
However, it was not all positive for the former PSG man, as he sustained a hamstring injury that will be out for three weeks per the club’s announcement.
Mbappé will miss the opportunity to play his first-ever Madrid derby, with the game taking place on Sunday.
Overall, he is expected to miss three games, including an away trip to Lille in the UEFA Champions League and a La Liga home game against Villarreal.
Mbappé has started his Madrid career brightly, scoring seven goals in nine games already, despite visibly still trying to adapt to the team’s style and movement.
The team will miss his firepower, but Carlo Ancelotti is not short of attacking options, with Brazilian youngster Endrick being the likely candidate to replace the Frenchman.
