Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe is reportedly set to own a football club, as he is close to acquiring major stakes in a team in his home country, France.
Mbappe, 25, has been one of the top-paid footballers since his move to Paris Saint-Germain as a teenager. He is now set to channel some of that amassed wealth into owning a football club.

According to a French publication, Le Parisien, Mbappe is set to buy Ligue 2 side Caen and will pay slightly below €20 million for the majority stakes, effectively making him the principal owner.
Ironically, Caen were one of the clubs keen on landing Mbappe as a youngster. However, their relegation to the second division of French football removed them from contention for the highly coveted talent.

While Mbappe will hold the majority stakes, Pierre-Antin Capton, a French film producer, will have the remaining shares, said to be worth around €5 million.
Meanwhile, the €20 million shelled out to acquire the club is only a dent in Mbappe’s wealth and projected earnings. He recently completed a move to Real Madrid, for which he received a significant signing bonus of €100 million.
He is also placed on significant wages. His €26.3 million wage is the third highest in LALIGA, only behind Barcelona duo Frankie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski.
