Jordon Ibe had the opportunity to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria, but he turned down the chance after Sunday Oliseh approached him.

Former Liverpool winger Jordon Ashley Femi Ibe is now in search of a new club after he was released by fifth-tier English football club Ebbsfleet Town.

Jordon Ibe was snapped up by Liverpool at age 16 after impressing at League One side Wycombe. However, it took until the 2012/2013 season before he broke into the squad at Anfield.

After successful loan spells at Birmingham City and Derby County, the Englishman returned to Anfield and nailed down a starting position under then-Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.

Under Jurgen Klopp, in the 2015/16 campaign, Jordon Ibe bagged four goals and four assists in 41 games.

He played an instrumental role, featuring in every match as Liverpool reached the EFL Cup final, only to lose to Manchester City via penalties.

In all, Jordon Ibe scored 4 goals and contributed 7 assists in 58 games for Liverpool before he decided to move on in search of more first-team action. Enters Bournemouth.

The Cherries splashed out a club record £15 million fee to acquire the services of Jordon Ibe in 2016 - a decision they would probably regret today.

Ibe drew a blank in his first season, scored two goals and 8 assists in his second, and managed just three goals and one assist in his third season. Eddie Howe had to let him go when his contract expired in 2020.

The 28-year-old made just one appearance at Derby and was released after his contract expired. He had stints in Turkey with Adanaspor but didn’t manage a single appearance and was sent parking just a few months into his three-and-a-half-year contract.

In 2015, when Jordon Ibe was at the peak of his powers at Liverpool, the Nigeria Football Federation reached out to him to consider switching allegiance to the West African giants.

Super Eagles legend and then-coach of the national team Sunday Oliseh also personally appealed to Ibe to consider representing Nigeria, after he visited Liverpool’s Melwood training ground.

However, Ibe, eligible to represent Nigeria through his father, rejected the chance to change nationality, pledging allegiance to England

Now 28 years old and without a club, Ibe made zero appearances for the senior England team, having represented them at U18, U19, U20, and U21 levels.
