In their quest to avoid a fourth successive draw, the Dockers left frustrated Simba wa Nairobi after registering another stalemate.

Nairobi City Stars came from behind to force a one-all draw against Bandari in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match at Ruaraka on Sunday evening.

The result sees Bandari remain sixth on the log on 48 points, while the City Stars remain 15th on 30 points.

The result could have been worse for the City Stars  side, with their opponents having the better scoring opportunities but failing to capitalize on them.

Bandari were responsible for almost all of the attacking play in the opening half hour, which included a chance for William Wadri that was denied by a great piece of defending from Edwin Buliba, a shot just over the target from Felix Oluoch, and a low effort from a tight angle by  that was scooped up by goalkeeper Steve Njunge.

City Stars gradually gained a foothold and began offering a sporadic threat of their own, with their best moment arriving in the 40th minute, as a mazy run from Samuel Kapen ended with the midfielder shooting just over the crossbar.

However, neither side was able to ripple the back of the net in the first 45 minutes as the first half ended with the score locked at 0-0.

Bandari got off to a dream start in the second stanza and claimed the lead in just the 47th minute, as Hassan Abdallah ran onto a fine pass from  Origa before lobbing City Stars goalkeeper Steve Njunge to make it 1-0.

The visitors almost doubled their lead on 50th minutes when Siraj Mohamed  set up  Wadrito shoot on goal, but  Njumge was equal to the task, while another chance three minutes later saw Brian Odera flash an effort just wide of the mark.

Bandari goalkeeper Joseph Okoth produced a magnificent save to deny Keneddy Onyango in the 57th minute after the Dockers defense was caught ball watching.

However, Okoth was beaten in the 61st minute when Levis Okello beat two defenders, before hitting the back of the net with a powerful shot from outside the box to make it 1-1.

On 72 minutes Bandari  threatened from the flanks again and this time Umaru Kasumba’s cross from the right picked out Andrew Juma , who sent a glancing header just wide, with a desperate Dockers lunging in to try and turn the ball home, though he was marginally too slow to react.

Chances dried up in the dying minutes of the game, with  bandari seemingly happy to pick up a valuable away point, while the Simba wa Nairobi  lacked the nous and penetration to threaten a winning goal as the full-time whistle drew nearer.

Bandari will be back in action next Saturday, 27 May, with a clash at home to Wazito, while City Stars’ next league clash is away against AFC Leopards on the same day.
