Shabana FC seeks to end winless streak against KCB in a crucial FKF Premier League clash.

Shabana FC is gearing up for a crucial battle as they aim to snap their five-match winless streak in a high-stakes clash against KCB FC in the FKF Premier League.

The encounter, set to take place at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Friday afternoon, holds immense significance for both teams as they vie for vital points to climb up the league standings.

With KCB currently occupying the 10th spot on the league table with 30 points, they are keen on securing a victory after being held to a goalless draw in their recent outing against Murang’a Seal.

Despite starting the season on a positive note, KCB has struggled to maintain momentum, facing a series of setbacks that have seen them slip down the rankings.

KCB head coach Bernard Mwalala emphasized the importance of confidence and determination as his team aims to turn their fortunes around.

"We need to be confident as we take on our opponents. The season is still far from over and we intend to make it to the top four. I know we are in a transitioning period, but it is time we upped our game to secure as many wins as possible," said Mwalala in an interview with People Daily.

However, KCB will be facing challenges with key players sidelined due to injuries, including striker Shadrack Wamalwa and Victor Omondi, further adding to the pressure on the team to deliver a positive result.

On the other hand, Shabana FC finds themselves in a precarious position, currently languishing in 17th place in the league table with 18 points.

Despite their promotion from the National Super League, Shabana has struggled to find consistency in their performances, resulting in a dismal run of form.

Their recent defeat against Bandari underscores the urgency for Shabana to regroup and secure much-needed points to avoid the threat of relegation.

The match against KCB presents an opportunity for Shabana to reignite their campaign and showcase their resilience on the field.

However, the team faces challenges not only on the pitch but also off it, with a section of Shabana fans planning to boycott the game due to dissatisfaction with the ticket prices set by KCB.

The decision to hike ticket prices has sparked outrage among supporters, who feel marginalized and exploited.

Expressing their discontent, fans highlighted the disparity in ticket costs, with VIP passes priced at Ksh 1000, while terrace tickets are set at Ksh 500.
