The Sky Blues have managed just over 0.88 goals per game this season in the Football League.
Remo Stars manager Daniel Ogunmodele has revealed that his club is in the market for strikers ahead of the second round in the NPFL.
The Sky Blues have struggled for goals this season and are looking to solve that before the start of the second half of the season.
Remo sit fifth on the table in Group A of the abridged campaign after four wins and two draws in the first half of the 2023 campaign.
Remo hunt for strikers
Ahead of the second half of the season, Remo Stars boss, Ogunmodele has hinted that the lack of goals left his struggling in the first round of the season.
The Ikenne-based club scored just eight goals in their first nine matches, an average of over 0.88 goals per match.
However, the talented coach has now confirmed that the Blues are in the market for solutions to their lack of cutting-edge in the final third.
“We are in the market to get new strikers,” Ogunmodele said per Oyosports news. “We created lots of chances in the first round but were unable to convert them.”
“We also have injury worries but I can tell you that we have two new strikers in our camp. We are looking at their performances ahead of the second round,” he added.
Remo in the NPFL
The Stars started the 2023 season in blistering fashion, scoring five goals while keeping clean sheets as they won three of their opening matches in January.
However, things have now gone bad for the Blues, who have only won just one of six matches since they defeated Shooting Stars on matchday three.
Remo have also scored just three goals in that time and conceded nine, two of which came in their last game against Nasarawa United before the mid-season break.
