With Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao impressing as starters, the club is reportedly exploring a potential swap deal involving Samuel Chukwueze or Noah Okafor for Aston Villa's underutilised winger, Jaden Philogene, to act as support.

Underwhelming performances lead to potential shakeup

AC Milan entered the season with high hopes for their wide options. However, while Leao and Pulisic have excelled, Chukwueze and Okafor—both signed as promising talents—have struggled to make significant contributions.

Okafor was expected to provide depth and grow into a potential starting role, especially as a backup for Leao.

However, the Swiss forward has not shown enough progress, leaving Milan reliant on the Portuguese star to maintain quality on the left wing.

Similarly, Chukwueze’s tenure has been underwhelming as the Nigerian, who arrived amid high expectations following a strong stint at Villarreal, has been inconsistent, leaving him firmly behind Pulisic in the pecking order.

Philogene tipped for AC Milan move

Given the problems in the squad, reports suggest that Milan are now eyeing a swap deal with Aston Villa for Jaden Philogene.

The 21-year-old English winger, who impressed during a loan spell at Cardiff City last season, has struggled for game time under Unai Emery at Villa with only two Premier League starts this season and may be open to a fresh start in Serie A.

AC Milan’s interest in Philogene could add much-needed depth and balance to their attacking options and a move could also benefit Aston Villa, providing them with an opportunity to strengthen their squad with experienced wingers like Chukwueze or Okafor.

As the January transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on AC Milan to see if this potential swap deal materialises.
