Chelsea are reportedly prepared to pay the required amount for their summer striker target.

Premier League giants Chelsea are reportedly still hot on the trail of Spanish Nigerian striker Samu Omorodion, despite a significant disparity in valuation with Atletico Madrid.

Omorodion, 20, came up through the ranks at Granada, and shortly after his debut, he was immediately snapped up by Atletico Madrid, who subsequently loaned him out to Alaves.

He went on to score eight goals for the Babazorros El Glorioso and is now attracting interest from top clubs in Europe.

Chelsea refusing to back down

Chelsea are looking to bolster their offensive ranks this summer, and despite landing Marc Guiu from Barcelona, they are still in the market for more offensive talents.

Omorodion is one of those on their shopping lists, and they are said to have already had three bids rejected by Atletico Madrid for the Spanish striker.

However, according to Football Espana, the Blues are insistent on landing their man and are prepared to test the Spanish team's resolve.

Per the report, Atletico have Omorodion in their plans for next season, but Chelsea believe an offer of around €70 million would be sufficient to land their man. That price could go even higher, as the Madrid-based side are set to offer the striker a contract renewal, which will see his release clause shoot up to €120 million.

Meanwhile, another striker target is slipping away from Chelsea, as West Ham United are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, with the Colombian international emerging as a key transfer target for new boss Julen Lopetegui.
