More misery for Aussems men who have not won in the league since March.
AFC Leopards extended their winless run in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League to seven games following a 1-0 loss to Ulinzi Stars at Nyayo Stadium on Wednesday.
Boniface Muchiri hammered home the lone goal from the edge of the box, getting on the end of good pass with a half volley to direct the ball into the top left corner past Leopards custodian Maxwell Muchesia with 18 minutes remaining.
Muchiri turned beautifully to receive the ball before hitting it sweetly first time with the Leopards goalkeeper unable to do much to stop it.
It is the least Ulinzi deserved from their enterprising display, having threatened the Leopards goal a number of times before scoring.
Muchesia was forced into a number of good saves as Ingwe struggled with the pace of the soldiers who easily got in behind their defence.
Muchiri had missed a couple of chances after the break, his best before the goal coming on the 47th minute when he weaved his way past the Leopards defence before hitting directly at the goalkeeper.
Leopards did not show their claws in the game with Ulinzi goalkeeper Stephen Ochieng going untested for large spells of the contest.
Patrick Aussems’ men were restricted to crosses in the box but the Ulinzi defence had a field day heading them way with relative ease.
Defeat leaves Leopards rooted at ninth spot on the table on 39 points while Ulinzi are now sixth on 43 points.
It was a disappointing afternoon for Aussems who had hoped that the 3-0 thumping of Bandari in the FKF Cup at the weekend would inspire them to start winning in the league as they have now collected just four points from a possible 21 since beating Bandari at the end of March.
Meanwhile, KCB and Bandari played out a barren draw, both teams failing to bounce back to winning ways following their recent disappointing results.
