Italy have sent defender Riccardo Calafiori back to Arsenal after he sustained a leg injury in their UEFA Nations League clash against France.
Italy's win over France on Friday night came with a worrying moment for Arsenal fans, as defender Calafiori went down in a strange collision with Ousmane Dembele.
The PSG man's studs caught Calafiori's leg as he fell, and although he tried to shake it off, he eventually had to be subbed out.
Italy manager Luciano Spalletti explained that the injury was not too serious, but Calafiori has been sent back to Arsenal's training base as a precaution.
It is believed that this is a precautionary measure, even though Calafiori was not fit enough to train with his Italy teammates this weekend.
Arsenal will be hopeful the defender's problem isn't too serious with a packed fixture schedule looming over the horizon.
