FKFPL Robert Matano: There is only one 'unfair' way Gor Mahia can beat Tusker on Saturday

Tusker coach Robert Matano is bullish about his team's chances in Saturday's top clash against Gor Mahia and feels K'Ogalo can only win if one thing happens.

Tusker head coach Robert Matano has revealed that there is only one way Gor Mahia can be able to beat his charges when both sides clash at the Machakos Stadium this Saturday.

Should Tusker win that match, they will have climbed up to 34 points and just six behind Gor, who currently lead the table on 40, and have lost none of their 18 games in the league this season.

Should Gor win, they will have opened a 12 point gap on the Brewers which will put a lot of pressure and cast a shadow of doubt among Tusker faithful whether they will be able to catch up at all.

Speaking before both sides prepare to lock horns, Matano, who was particularly angry at the level of officiating during their 0-0 draw with Posta Rangers in December, believes that the only way Gor will win is through “biased officiating”.

"The only way Gor can beat Tusker is through biased officiating,” Matano said as quoted by Nation Sport.

“That should not be allowed to happen on Saturday. What I want is fair officiating which has not happened in 2021, 2022 and 2023."

Matano believes that poor officiating cost them three points against K’Ogalo in the first leg, after Benson Omala scored the game’s only goal from an offside position last October.

“In our first leg against Gor, Benson (Omala) scored  from an offside position and the goal was allowed (to stand)," he added.

“I don’t fear Gor Mahia and let the game be decided on the pitch and not by referees who are biased and gift them wins that they do not deserve.”
