The money bags managed to see out the remaining minutes of the game and reach the domestic cup final.
Azam will face the winner between Khalid Aucho’s Young Africans and Singida Big Stars, home to Matia Lule, Kiggundu Steven Billy and Shafik Batambuze.
For Simba, head coach Robertinho Oliviera will face a hard time staying on as Msimbazi’s head coach; this is the second straight season that Simba has failed to win a trophy.
Now out of the CAF Champions League and the domestic Cup, Simba’s only hope for silverware is the league, but they’re seven points adrift of arch-rivals and defending champions Young Africans with three games to go.
For Simba to win the league, Yanga would have to lose all their remaining games, which is next to impossible.
