Benin on the other hand were close to securing a win against Nigeria until a late Victor Osimhen header saved the Super Eagles to get a draw.
In their final group game against Libya, Rohr masterminded a difficult defense to break down as they held on for a point.
That was all that they needed even though Rwanda defeated Nigeria in Uyo.

While Nigeria finished top of the group, both Rwanda and Benin Republic were tied on points.
The Cheetahs led by Rohr picked up the second ticket in the group thanks to their superior goal difference.
