Romeo Lavia has revealed the reasons why he snubbed Liverpool and signed for London club Chelsea.
Only days after signing Moises Caicedo, the Blues, who were eager to improve their midfield options this summer, finalised a £58 million deal for Lavia on Friday.
The Belgian international signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea after completing his medical.

Before signing with Chelsea, Liverpool were close to bringing him to Anfield after Southampton accepted their bid.
However, Lavia chose Chelsea over Liverpool after the Blues swooped in with a convincing offer to Southampton for the Belgian.
Lavia has now spoken about his transfer to Chelsea and why he chose the Blues over the Reds.

He believed that the project will make him a better player than he is now which is why he picked Chelsea as his preferred destination.

He made a big decision on his future and picked Chelsea where he feels their project is good enough for his growth.

The 19-year-old had his first interview after signing for Chelsea and he said the Blues have a better project than Liverpool.
Lavia said according to reports from Daily Mail, “I think the project and the ambitions of the club were key factors, but also the history behind it, so these three factors were determining my decision.”
Liverpool boast of 19 League titles and five Champions League trophies compared to Chelsea who have only six league titles and two Champions League trophies.
The Belgian star, though, finds Chelsea to be a more alluring alternative because they have won 11 titles since the year 2010 compared to Liverpool's seven.
