The CAF African Schools Football Championship, an initiative of CAF President Patrice Motsepe, will take place from Wednesday 5th, to Saturday 8th, at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban, South Africa.

Royal Giants will have to battle West Africans and a Malawian school as they start their battle for the ultimate prize in the CAF African Schools Football Championship.

The tournament, an initiative of CAF President Patrice Motsepe, will take place from Wednesday 5th to Saturday 8th, at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban, South Africa.

The Ugandan and East African champions will face Salima Secondary School (Malawi)

Complexe Scolaire Ben Sekou Sylla (Guinea) and CEG Sainte Rita from Benin in Group B.

The first pool has the hosts Clapham High School, CS Horizon of Bukavu (DR Congo) and CEM Belaouche Mouhend Oulhadji (Algeria).

The girls’ category also has two uneven groups. Pool A hosts Edendale Technical School from South Africa, Fountain Gate (Tanzania) and Scan Aid (The Gambia).

Group B has CEG Mfilou (Congo), Anse Boileau (Seychelles), CEG Colby (Benin) and Ecole Omar IBN Khatab (Morocco).

The top two teams in each pool advance to the semifinals.

The winners of both the boys’ and girls’ competitions will receive USD 300,000, while the runners-up will fly back home with USD 200,000 and USD 150,000, respectively.
