Eric Chelle claimed his first win as the new head coach of the Super Eagles, having given a difficult task upon his arrival.
The Super Eagles struggled in their first four games of their World Cup qualifiers, with just three draws and one loss, having just three points and are in fifth place in Group C.
However, they were able to get a 2-0 victory over stubborn Rwanda in Kigali to increase their hope of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
