Ryan Giggs' father has called his own son a womaniser and "rat" after claiming he had an affair with his brother's wife.

The Man United legend was having a long-term relationship with his own brother's wife, according to the security guard, who admitted he was almost arrested after finding out.

After a difficult childhood marred by Danny's own infidelity, Danny Giggs has only spoken to his football legend son once in 33 years.

The Welsh international has been called out by his dad who has labelled him a womaniser in his recent comment.

Giggs's dad statement

The astonishing 2011 episode happened after Ryan's eight-year affair with Natasha Lever, the wife of Ryan's brother Rhodri, was made public by The Sun.

In March 2003, Ryan and Lever first met in a nightclub in Manchester, and the two later spent the evening having fun in a hotel while Giggs' expectant fiancée Stacey Cooke was at home.

Two months later, Lever met Rhodri but continued her secret relationship with Ryan Giggs which led to her getting pregnant.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, as reported by the Sun, the 67-year-old said, "The rat. I can’t understand how anyone could do that to his brother.

"I read about it in a Sunday paper, jumped in my car and zoomed up the M4 towards Manchester. God knows what I’d have done to him but it wouldn’t have been nice."

It was said that the United star, who was married to Stacey at the time, got Lever pregnant during their relationship.

Afterwards, the participant from Big Brother 2012 said she had an abortion two weeks before getting married to Rhodri in Las Vegas.

Giggs' dad continued, "No one has ever challenged him. If I’d been allowed to see him I wouldn’t have let him behave like this.”

Giggs assault charge

Ryan was detained on November 3, 2020, on suspicion of two counts of assault against his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville and Emma Greville, Emma's younger sister.

He was charged in April 2021 with assault resulting in actual bodily harm, coercive and controlling behaviour toward Kate, and common assault toward Emma.

The Manchester United legend contested the allegations, and the jury was deadlocked throughout the trial last August.

Giggs was cleared of all counts on Tuesday, two weeks before he was scheduled to stand trial again.

He later admitted in court that he had never been true to his former girlfriends or to his ex-wife Stacey, with whom he shares two children, Libby (20) and Zach (16).

Danny expressed his satisfaction with the verdict and claimed that while Ryan is a "womaniser," that "doesn't make him guilty of assault."
