Despite his heroics, Liverpool's seven-match winning streak across all competitions came to an end as they dropped points in a thrilling encounter at St. James’ Park.

The match unfolded with the hosts initially taking the lead, only for Liverpool to respond fiercely after the break.

Both teams exchanged more goals in a frantic second half, culminating in a late equaliser from Fabian Schar in the 90th minute that denied Liverpool all three points. 

This result leaves Liverpool with 35 points after 14 matches, as they now face scrutiny over their defensive vulnerabilities against the Magpies despite Salah's standout performance.

Alexander Isak gave Newcastle United a shock lead.

Meanwhile, for Newcastle, they are now without a win in each of their last three matches and sit 10th on the table.
