The Nigerian winger, who joined the Rossoneri in the summer of 2023 for €21.8 million from Villarreal, has struggled to make an impact at San Siro and reports suggest that he could be headed for a new destination in the January transfer window.
Chukwueze’s underwhelming stint at AC Milan
Expectations were high for Chukwueze after his standout performances at Villarreal, but his time at Milan has been disappointing.
In 21 appearances across all competitions this season, the winger has managed just three goals and one assist, playing 958 minutes in total.
The lack of consistent performances with the Rossoneri has led to AC Milan considering parting ways with the Nigerian international, whose contract runs until 2028.
Reports indicate that Chukwueze’s agents have begun exploring options, with Besiktas emerging as a serious contender for his signature.
Besiktas eyeing January deal for Chukwueze
According to reports in Italy and Turkey, 16-time Super Lig champions Besiktas are reportedly interested in acquiring Chukwueze in the January window.
The Turkish club is evaluating how to structure the deal, with AC Milan open to negotiations; however, complications such as Besiktas’ ongoing presidential elections could delay any discussions.
Interestingly, Chukwueze has also been linked with other Turkish clubs, including Trabzonspor, as well as a potential move to Aston Villa in the Premier League.
As January nears, his future remains uncertain, but a transfer to Besiktas could provide the winger with a fresh start and an opportunity to reignite his career.
