Samuel Chukwueze was born in Abia State, Nigeria on May 22, 1999, and plays football professionally for Italian club AC Milan and the Nigeria national team, the Super Eagles.
He was born in the Umuahia area and grew up with his family including his parents and two siblings, a boy and a girl.
Chukwueze took up football early and was already playing when he was only eight years old. According to him, Nigerian footballing legend Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha was a source of inspiration for him during his childhood years.

Villarreal beat off competition for his signature when he joined their youth setup in 2017 from local side Diamond Football Academy.
After being initially assigned to the club's Juvenil A squad, Chukwueze made his senior debut with the reserves on 15 April 2018, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 1–1 Segunda Division B away draw against CE Sabadell FC.
Chukwueze made his first-team debut on 20 September 2018 in a 2–2 home draw against Rangers in the UEFA Europa League and played a key role for the Yellow Submarine side that won the Europa League in 2021.
