The Dutch gaffer gave a thinly veiled warning about Antony’s attitude in training, and the former Ajax man could face a similar fate to Sancho if he doesn't show immediate improvement.
When asked if he would be giving Antony, who has only made one appearance as an 89th-minute substitute this season, a start in the EFL Cup tie against Barnsley, Ten Hag said, 'Tomorrow you will see what the line-up will be.
“We have training every day, and the players have to earn the right to play. When players do the right thing in training and the attitude is good, and when they show performance in training then they will earn the right to play.'
Antony could follow Sancho's path out of the club
English winger Jadon Sancho was frozen out of the squad last season after a similar issue with Ten Hag and was forced to go on loan to Borussia Dortmund for the second half of the season.
