The 2023/24 StarTimes Uganda Premier League will kick off on Friday 15th September, according to the fixtures that were released on Thursday.
Record 16-time champions Sports Club Villa will welcome Kitara back to the top flight on Friday 15th, at Wankulukuku.
The other newly-promoted clubs, Mbarara City and NEC will renew their rivalry at the former’s makeshift home in Bombo in a doubleheader that will also see Arua Hill host Busoga United at the barracks.
Arua Hill will host their matches at Bombo after failing to provide any other option in West Nile.
Busoga United will also host at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, sharing the facility with BUL.
Soltilo Bright Stars will test coach Abbey Kikomeko’s BUL FC at the Kavumba Recreation Ground.
Continental assignments
Defending champions Vipers SC and last season’s 1st runners-up KCCA FC will not be in action due to their respective continental assignments.
Vipers is involved in the CAF Champions League that they kick off this weekend with the round one qualifier against Jwaneng Galaxy from Botswana.
If the Venoms manage to overcome the Botswana giants, then the Venoms will skip the league kickoff due to international duty.
If they fail in round one, then they will kick off their campaign against Gaddafi FC in Jinja.
KCCA FC will miss the opening week due to CAF duties after receiving a bye to the second round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
