Everton manager Sean Dyches says he was happy Kane did not lose any of his eyebrows afte receiving a blow to the face form
Everton manager Sean Dyche took a sly dig at Tottenham forward Harry Kane after the incident between Toffees midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure and Spurs captain, which led to the Frenchman getting sent off during their Premier League encounter.
Doucoure’s hot head got him sent off against Tottenham
During Everton’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham, Doucoure was penalised for hitting Kane in the face and while there could be little debate about the justification for the red card, many people have still criticised Kane for making a meal of the contact in order to ensure that the Everton man was sent off.
Dyche is one such person, and although he recognised that there was no place for Doucoure’s actions on the field of play, he also found a way to take a crack at Kane.
Dyche did not require Doucoure apology after incident
Ahead of Everton’s weekend fixture against Manchester United, Dyche was asked if Doucoure had apologised for his role in the incident, and he replied that the midfielder did not need to.
He said, “No, he certainly didn’t need to apologise. At the end of the day, he knows you can’t raise your hands.
“I thought at one point he might have snapped his [Harry Kane] eyelash, and that would have been tragic, but he seems to be responding okay. He knows you can’t raise your hands in football, it’s as simple as that.”
Everton picked up a point against Tottenham thanks to a late screamer from Michael Keane and they will be hoping to keep that momentum going in another difficult match against Manchester United on Saturday, with the Toffees looking to stay out of the relegation zone.
