Sean Dyche is looking to cause another upset against Arsenal
Everton manager Sean Dyche has charged his team to go and do the unthinkable at the Emirates Stadium in their Premier League tie against Arsenal.
Dyche’s first game in charge of Everton was a shock win against league-leaders Arsenal earlier this month, and the gaffer believes that his team can pull off a similar result when they travel to play the Gunners again.
Dyche believes Everton can use mentality edge over Arsenal
On that occasion, defender James Tarkowski scored the only goal as Everton secured an unbelievable 1-0 win at Goodison Park. Dyche hopes the team can use the same principles of expecting nothing but giving everything to get a super-rare league double over Arsenal.
Speaking ahead of the game on Wednesday, Dyche said, "That's what I'm looking at. Going down there. Giving a performance. Seeing where it takes us."
“You go there almost expecting nothing - that in itself is a nice weapon to have. If everyone expects that you are not going to get anything...let's go and get something.”
Everton hoping to get something out of Arsenal on the road
Everton can certainly get something against Arsenal as they have shown earlier in the month, and they will also be buoyed by the fact that Dyche has had the better of his opponent on the touchline Mikel Arteta more than the other way around.
With Dyche winning two of their meetings so far, to Arteta’s one win, while three matches have ended in draws.
They will however, have to take note of their poor form at the Emirates Stadium, having lost on four of their last five visits.
They have also generally been poor away from home in the Premier League this season, winning only once against Southampton and losing six times on the road in 11 away fixtures.
