Maroons conjured a dominant 3-0 league win on the day, their first of the season. Senfuma explains that the winning formula was the team's momentum throughout the game and catching the hosts on the counterattack.

Safe to say Maroons head coach Mohammed Senfuma is still revelling in his side's league win over Wakiso Giants on Sunday at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

Maroons conjured a dominant 3-0 league win on the day, their first of the season. Senfuma explains that the winning formula was the team's momentum throughout the game and catching the hosts on the counterattack.

"It was a good result for us; everyone on the team played their role to get the win,“ Senfuma told Pulse Sports.

”Ojok (Darius) will be a different player because you can see what he does with the ball; we hope he keeps this up.“

"We also caught them (Wakiso Giants) on the break quite often, and our execution was also top-notch; the early goal gave us confidence too,“ Senfuma added.

Youngster Darius Ojok notched his first brace ever in the league; both goals coming in the first half, while Abraham Tusuubira sealed the deal in the second half while providing two assists on the day.

Maroons' win was a fifth on match day one for all the visiting teams, with all home teams failing to win their respective games.

Next up for the prisons side is a home game against S.C Villa on Sunday, 24th September.

Mohammed Senfuma's side finished sixth on the log last season but majorly made the Luzira stadium a fortress, claiming points against top sides like URA FC, Vipers SC, S.C Villa and KCCA FC.
