Naija Stars Abroad: Step aside Osimhen & Lookman as Tella, Okereke and Super Falcons duo steal show
Naija Stars Abroad returns with an interesting weekend for Nigerian players led by Nathan Tella, Osimhen and Super Falcons stars.
However, the Super Eagles star returned to form against Juventus, even though he could not add to his nine league goals this season.
The former Leicester City man was a handful for Juventus defenders, who struggled to keep up with his technique on the ball. Lookman, who played 80 minutes, was La Dea’s biggest threat, forcing Michele Di Gregorio to a brilliant save in the first half before having his shot cleared off the line in the second half.
The 27-year-old had three shots on target, completed two key passes and missed one big chance.
Retegui salvages a point for Atalanta
As for the game itself, Atalanta had to come back from a goal down to salvage a point. Having dropped four points in their last two games, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men went into the game knowing they had to win to stay in touch with leaders, Napoli.

‘I am satisfied’ - Atalanta manager happy with Lookman’s defensive performance
Ademola Lookman's defensive contribution was commended by manager Gian Piero Gasperini, despite Atalanta's generally poor performance.
Meanwhile, Juventus were hoping to secure a rare win having won just six games in the league this season. The Old Lady did show intent in the first half as they created the better chances, although they could not convert.
However, their dominance eventually paid off after the break as Pierre Kalulu put Thiago Motta’s side ahead in the 54th minute. But that was the end of their dominance as Atalanta took control of the game, throwing everything at Juve.
La Dea’s pressure would eventually yield an equaliser as Mateo Retegui, who came on as a second half substitute, headed home a cross from Raoul Bellanova 12 minutes from time.
Retegui’s equaliser did set up a thrilling finish, but despite the attacking threat of both teams, neither side could not find the winner.
