Barcelona have been dealt a huge blow as youngsters Gavi and Pedri are set to miss the Europa League return leg against Manchester United.
Gavi will be suspended for the second leg at Old Trafford following an accumulation of yellow cards. and Barcelona confirmed that Pedri could be facing a spell on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring in the first leg.
Pedri and Gavi unavailable for Man United tie
Gavi picked up a yellow card for a foul on Fred in the second-half. It was his third booking in European competition this season having received yellows in Champions League group games against Inter Milan and Viktoria Plzen. He will serve a one match suspension.
Pedri limped off in the first half of the 2-2 draw with Man United and reports suggest he could be out of action for up to a month.
"It's a very significant loss but we'll try not to let it show," Barca coach Xavi told his postmatch news conference after the game.
"We have alternatives such as Frenkie [de Jong], Sergi [Roberto] and Pablo [Torre]."
Barca will hope Sergio Busquets can be fit in time for the return leg as his calm presence in front of the back-four could be key for Xavi, allowing Frenkie de Jong to be more progressive.
For Manchester United, defender, Lisandro Martinez will be available for the return leg at Old Trafford after missing the first leg through suspension.
