Sammy Okoth believes Tore Bobe have what it takes to compete in the Premier League but need to correct a few things after failing to utilise their chances on Sunday.
Shabana head coach Sammy Okoth believes his team will be able to compete in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) if they work on their finishing.
Okoth saw his side create a number of chances in their Premier League opener against Murang’a Seal on Sunday but failed to capitalise on them before their opponents walked away with all three points after an injury-time winner.

HARAMBEE STARS: Timbe returns from the cold as Engin Firat names Harambee Stars squad
Firat has named the provisional Harambee Stars squad set to travel to Qatar, the hosts of the 2022 World Cup to take part in a friendly match against The Maroons this September.
It was not the start Tore Bobe had hoped for in their first top-flight match after a 17-year absence and Okoth feels his side were let down by a lack of clinical edge in front of goal which must change going forward.
“We created many chances, our build-up was good but our finishing let us down. However, it is still too early to judge because we played against a familiar team. I want to see us play against a Premier League side to know exactly where we are,” Okoth told Pulse Sports.

Shabana endure rude welcome back to Premier League with opening day loss in Homa Bay
Tore Bobe came out empty handed from the battle of new boys as Murang’a Seal scored in injury time to grab all three points
“We had the best chances but our desire to want to score quickly kind of worked against us. Even when we conceded the late goal, it was because we had gone in search of a winner before they hit us on the counter. We now need to correct tactically what we got wrong in terms of finishing.”
Okoth handed starts to new signings Rodgers Aloro and Mark Okolla with Johanna Mwita among the new arrivals on the bench.

Michael Olunga, Philippe Coutinho partnership in the offing as Al Duhail approach Brazilian forward
The Harambee Stars captain could soon be lining up alongside former Liverpool and Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho if Aston Villa reach a deal with Al Duhail
However, it was the old boys who run the show, Nehemiah ‘Neymar’ Onchiri missing a couple of sitters to give his team the lead with Bryan Michira also guilty of fluffing his lines before Batts Awita gave Murang’a the lead after profiting from a defensive mix-up in injury time.
It is a display that has given Okoth encouragement although he wants Shabana fans to be patient with the team as they find their feet in the Premier League.

FKF-PL season opener: Advantage Tusker, more work to do for Gor Mahia & Police but Leopards, Shabana fans will need to be patient
Tusker were among three teams that won on matchday one as Gor Mahia were held by Sofapaka but a lack of goals for AFC Leopards and Shabana should be a concern
“Fans should know this is not NSL, they should be patient and support the team unless they want it to go back to where it was before. Just the way players are learning that the Premier League is a new stage, fans should do the same,” he added.
Shabana play away to FC Talanta in their next match this weekend before a difficult outing against Kenya Police on matchday three.
